Where culture, tradition and modernity meet
Born in one of the sixth happiest countries in the world, the Netherlands, we have been lucky enough to enjoy a prosperous education so far.
The same cannot be said about our parents.
They were born in a third world country and experienced extreme hardship
due to the harsh economic climate – they lived in the poorest country in Asia, Afghanistan.
In 1996, they involuntarily emigrated to the Netherlands because of the bombings in their home country.
They raised their children in the worst possible conditions. Despite the harsh living conditions,
they never lost sight of their roots and made it their mission to pass on their rich cultural heritage to their children.
An essential part of this was to introduce us to the food culture of Afghanistan.

Our organic fruit and vegetables are grown by farmers who use only natural fertilizers on their own land.

Here at Shams Foods, we are passionate about sharing the delicious and unique flavors of Central Asia with the world. Our mission has been to make these flavors accessible to everyone, and we have been doing this successfully for 20 years now through our import and export company.
We pride ourselves on sourcing the highest quality ingredients and products from the region and offering them to our customers in Europe. Now, as we expand our horizons into the online environment, we are even more excited to spread the joy and richness of Central Asian cuisine.

History
Nuts are one of nature’s most nutritious foods. They are packed with healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. They are healthy, compact foods that are easy to take on the go, have a long shelf life and require minimal preparation. But this is where our business shines! We import the best nuts in the world. Smell, see, touch and taste. All our nuts are produced in small batches to ensure quality. Far from industrial assembly line production – great people working here, doing what they love.
